About ISTC

ISTC is a Canadian federal corporation with the following mandate:

Mission

To support Indigenous Nations and Tribal Corporations with implementation of the global flow and exchange of their Indigenous goods, services, and investments.

Principles

  1. Respect for Indigenous teachings and, where possible, application of these teachings to the issue of international inter-tribal trade and investment.
  2. Respect and preference for environmentally sustainable international inter-tribal trade and investment practices.
  3. Sharing of Indigenous trading best practices with Indigenous clients wanting to conduct inter-tribal trade and investment, following ISTC’s mandate to advise and assist clients in adopting these best practices wherever possible.
  4. Fostering, through international inter-tribal trade and investment, healthy Indigenous communities, and more robust and stable Indigenous economies.

International Sovereign Trade Consultancy Ltd (ISTC) was created to meet the needs of Indigenous Nations and Tribal Corporations seeking expertise and guidance in the fast-evolving field of Indigenous International (inter-tribal) Trade.  Indigenous nations and tribal corporations seeking to trade their products amongst each other are affected by many complex issues, such as Indigenous sovereignty in relation to the Nation-State, foreign/Indigenous trade zone development, Jay Treaty principles, USMCA (CUSMA), and supply chain logistics impact.

ISTC is closely associated with the International Intertribal Trade and Investment Organization and Garwill Law Professional Corporation, as well as other specialists in this area. This allows for a collaborative approach to identifying and resolving challenges for favourable Inter-tribal trading opportunities around the world.
